Provides an overview of the police service in Scotland and the background to recent developments in call management. Looks at the number and types of calls received by the police and how people know who to call. Reviews the new arrangements for managing calls from the public; issues relating to the staffing of call management and dispatch; and costs, performance, and public satisfaction levels. Makes recommendations.
